Students ease back into school routine around Pike County with smooth start

The first week of school has been graded.
With the dust settling and students getting back into their routines staff and administration are ready for the new year.
“I’ve been really pleased the first week. It doesn’t take long for kids to get back into a routine and groove,” Clopton Principal Larry Lagemann said.
“I had all my staff returning from last year so that always makes it easy.”
The sentiment is the same in Louisiana.
“The beginning of the year has been extremely smooth,” Louisiana Elementary School Principal Stacy Hamett said. “The only ones that cried were the little ones that couldn’t stay.”

First grader Davonte and kindergartner Daeja Greene are all smiles for their first day of the new school year at Louisiana Elementary School on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
