Shipley wins Artist of the Year at Josie Awards in Nashville

A Louisiana native was honored on a national stage.
Kathryn Shipley won Artist of the Year in the Country Gospel/Gospel category at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville, Tenn., on Sunday Sept. 17.
“When they said my name I literally froze,” she said.
“I tried to go Facebook live and it was freezing up so I just did a video on my phone and I was holding up the phone to the giant jumbo tron and when they read my name it was crazy.”
Shipley anticipated that Tim Walden, Sr. would win her category after he was inducted into the County Hall of Fame earlier in the program.

Louisiana native Kathryn Shipley won Artist of the Year in the Country Gospel/Gospel category at the Josie Awards in Nashville, Tenn., for her song “Shine Your Love”. Shipley is signed to Bongo Boy Records.
