Mr. Daney “Sam” Early, 58, of Frankford, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Paul Lewis officiated. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.
He was born July 22, 1957 in Louisiana the son of Ray C. Early and Frances Reeder Early. He married Debby Stoops Aug. 30, 1980 in Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife, Debby Stoops Early of Frankford; four daughters, Samantha Early of Frankford, Stephanie McCormick (Chuck) of Louisiana, Staci Brown of Frankford, and Danielle Early of St. Louis; one son, Duke Early and wife Amanda of Frankford; two brothers, Steve Early (Lori) and Rip Early (Betty) of Louisiana; and ten grandchildren, Khadora Early of Frankford, Brian and Kailey McCormick of Louisiana, Brendon, Cassidy and Taylor Brown of Bowling Green, Rian Lawerence, Becca Lawerence and Derby May Early, of Frankford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; Joy McLaughlin, Karen Creech and Denise Early and one brother, Dale Early.
Sam enjoyed farm work and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are; Paul Traynor and Lucas Mosby, Active pallbearers are; Shawn Early, Dana Early, Shane McLaughlin, Neil Anderson, Ricky Gordon and Justin Schaedel.
Jean Wheeler Schmitt, 92, died on Aug. 18, at Boone Hospital Center. She was born in Baltimore, Md. to James Somerville Wheeler and Anna Margaret Griffin Wheeler on Oct. 12, 1922. Jean was a nurse in World War II and saw combat duty in the European theater. She married John Freeman Schmitt on Nov. 24, 1945 and moved to Louisiana, where she lived most of her adult life.
After John’s death in 2005 she moved to Columbia, where she resided until her death.
Besides her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Anne S.(Missy) Schmitt and her two sisters Janet W. Hinlicky and Margaret(Peg) Kepp. She is survived by her son Randy Schmitt(Margaret) and her daughter Kitty Rogers(Jim). She is also survived by two grandchildren Elizabeth Schmitt Boyette(Aaron) and Brian Edward Rogers(Tia) and two great grandchildren Leo and Ora Rogers.
Per Jean’s request a private burial will be held at a later date.
Lucas Cole Strieker, 16, of Louisiana, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 in a one- vehicle accident near Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
