The City of Louisiana has been trying to pick up the pieces following a flash flood that swept through the town, causing damage to several homes and businesses along the city branch.

"We had a large volume rain in a very short time. I would say we have four to five inches in one hour," City Administrator Bob Jenne said.

After the flash flood caused the town branch to swell, debris was washed downstream. At Fifth and Tennessee streets next to Thomas Motors, a culvert runs under the street. In the culvert is a 16-inch sewer main that...
