Next Farmer’s Market will be free to vendors

The Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors agreed Monday, Aug. 30 to allow the next Farmer’s Market to be a free day to vendors.

Normally vendors pay $5 to set up at the riverfront for the market from 7-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays through the first week in October.

However, with this coming weekend being Labor Day weekend, the market’s organizer, Eileen Hoffman, made the suggestion to allow vendors to set up there for free since it is often difficult to predict how sales will be on those weekends.
