A new marketplace has opened its doors in Clarksville.
The Pickerville U.S.A. Market Place, located on 108 and 110 Howard Street, is home to various vendors and artisans both local and regional.
“(We) wanted to make it different from the antique center,” owner Jack Bishop said.
“There’s an eclectic mix.”
Bishop wanted to have the marketplace open in time for Applefest on Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9.
Susan Richardson has a booth and sells hand crafted folk art, theorem paintings and Amish made rockers.
“Jack asked me to have a booth,” Richardson said.
“It’s been fun. Jack is very supportive and very encouraging.”
Local forger Mike Brewer displays his hand crafted work in his booth.
“Jack’s a good friend. We pass ideas back and forth and I decided to put my ironwork and oil paintings in there,” Brewer said.
“It’s a good place to display.”
Brewer plans on adding more custom pieces as they are finished.
The market place has room for 18 vendors. There are currently 13, eight of which are local to the Pike County area.
