A new Clarksville resident is sharing her creations with Pike County.
Betty Kellis opened Betty’s Boutique on Wednesday, Nov. 1, in Clarksville and has been busy so far.
“It’s been fine. I’ve had a lot of people come in,” Kellis said.
“I’ve been doing craftwork like this for about 20 years and about eight years ago I had an illness in the family and I wasn’t able to continue. So when we decided to move to Clarksville my fiance asked me what I was going to do with all these flowers.”
Kellis originally thought about supplying local stores with her products until demand grew.
“I knew there were shops around here so I told him I’d make up a couple of arrangements to see if I could put them in a shop and it started snowballing and I found out this place was available. We talked about it and decided to give it a try,” Kellis said.
Kellis, a St. Louis native, and her fiance moved to Clarksville after buying a house in June.
