A 60-year-old man faces both a murder charge and armed criminal action charge after authorities say he shot and killed his step-son on Friday evening.
According to a press release from Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte, homeowner Michael Allan Black and Alexander Koch were in a verbal dispute prior to the shooting.
According to the probable cause statement filed with the Pike County Circuit Court Clerk’s office, the two men were arguing in the garage portion of the rural Pike County home. At some point during the argument, Koch allegedly repeatedly struck Black in the face with a skate board.
According to statements from various Pike County Sheriff’s Department deputies, the accused fired a Smith and Wesson .357 revolver into Koch’s abdomen because Koch had been hitting him multiple times.
Authorities did note that Black’s face was bloodied when they arrived.
