The Louisiana school board met on Monday, April 16, and named new officers and discussed bids for the bus barn.
The newly appointed officers are : Jenna Loveless as president, Ben Logan as vice-president, Pam Todd as treasurer and Maggie Neff as secretary.
Next season, the high school girls basketball team will be coached by Derrick Branstetter, who is leaving his role as high school principal to teach and coach.
He will also be teaching physical education.
An update on the bond projects was also given.
The district received three bids for the work on the new bus barn but all were much higher than budgeted, according to Superintendent Dr. Todd Smith.
“We will reject all bids and consider the items we can do or contract ourselves and reduce the scope of work. We are still discussing options for the roof work. Spray coat roofs are extremely economical but not as durable in the long term. We are exploring options that will give us the most value for our expenditure,” he said.
