Donald E. Lewis was born and raised in Louisiana, graduating in the Class of 1961. He recently published a book filled with hundreds of personal and business principles he’s learned throughout his life. Those principles give advice on how to live a more productive and fulfilling life in both personal and business aspects.
After Lewis graduated from Louisiana High School, he left Louisiana to attend the University of Missouri, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1966.
In order to pay for college, “I got a job working out on a riverboat, and I worked twice a day,” Lewis said. “It was from 12 to 6. So 12 midnight to 6 a.m. and 12 noon to 6 p.m. And seven days a week. It was a real crunch-grind kind of job for a college kid, but I did [that] work for four summers in a row.”
