The Louisiana track team has made many accomplishments. On May 5, the team traveled to Centralia to compete in the Clarence Cannon Conference meet. The boys placed first overall, while the girls finished fifth. There were many boys and girls who placed highly in their events. The bus reeked of gold on the trip back to Louisiana. Even though the girls did not place first, they still had high spirits because they know that they will do even more damage next season.
On May 10, the boys and girls took a bus to Lutheran High School for the district meet. There were 12 teams that participated in the meet and, once again, the boys came out on top. They had a lot of tough competition, such as Maplewood, Richmond Heights and Cleveland NJROTC. The distance runners had the weight on their shoulders. The two other teams in the running for the district championship had no distance runners, so the Louisiana runners could score points in events that the other two could not. They came in the clutch, and the boys won the district championship. The girls finished fifth in a very tough district, and they have much to be proud of. Many athletes from Louisiana moved on to the sectionals meet with high hopes of going on to state.
