During a special city council meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, Louisiana officials appointed Kiffany Ardeneaux and Jeff Salois as new council members.
Ardeneaux was appointed to the city council seat for Ward II and sworn in to her position.
The seat was vacated by Myles Neff when he moved to another ward. Ardeneaux is now the chair of the Housing Committee as well as a member of the Ordinance/Land Use/Administrative Policy Committee and the Parks/Recreation/Historic Preservation Committee.
“At this time my goal is to get up to speed,” Ardeneaux told the Louisiana Press-Journal regarding her goals and expectations with her new position. “I am still new to this position and have some catching up to do.” Ardeneaux recognizes the rich history that Louisiana has and will be working to keep the city as a place that current residents enjoy as well as attracting future residents.
