Lady Hawks use busy week as final tune up for district tournament

The Clopton Lady Hawks took part in a tournament over the weekend and played two scheduled games to put their record to 15-8 (4-2 conference) on the year. The next game for the team comes at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, against the winner of the New Haven/Community game at New Haven.

The Lady Hawks lost 13-9 in a shootout to the Lady Bobcats on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
McCaylee McPike went two for four with three RBI; Brooklyn McKenny went two for four with two RBI; Maya Street went two for three with three runs scored and one RBI; Kaitlyn Kuntz went two for five with two stolen bases, one run scored and one RBI and Alyssa Smith went two for four with two runs scored.
McKenny took the loss on the mound after going five innings and allowing 10 runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks with one strikeout.

Junior Kaitlyn Kuntz looks for an opportunity to advance to second base against Bowling Green on Tuesday, Sept. 26. She has 31 runs scored and 29 stolen bases this season.
