Infrastructure work is abundant in Louisiana.
City Administrator Kelly Henderson received a proposal from the group Save Our Streetscape member Jay Thomas minutes before Monday night’s committee meeting and did not have time to read the contents.
The troublesome shared wall between 401 and 403 Georgia St. was evaluated on Wednesday, July 5, and could be stable in the next two weeks, according to Henderson.
An issue with the tie system design and an impeding stairway have slowed the process of stabilization by contractor Danny Orf.

City workers took advantage of the closure of the Noix Creek Bridge to work on sewers and evaluate manholes down Third St. on Monday, July 10. the city is looking to add manholes at intersections on the road and perform sewer maintenance.
