A recent hire in the Louisiana RII school district will be changing hats for the 2018-19 school year.
Current Louisiana Middle School Principal Nick Heggemann will replace Derrick Branstetter as high school principal next year.
“I’m excited about the transition over there,” Heggemann said.
“Working with high school kids is what I came from and what I’ve been doing almost my whole career. I really enjoy my job here [at the middle school] but I see it as an opportunity it see if I can fit into that role.”
The year at the middle school will help Heggemann be familiar with the future high school students.
“I know what will be the ninth graders next year. Getting to know the layout of the buildings and how things operate has been good,” he said.
“I can now go right into helping with instruction and working on kids being college and career ready.”
Once entering his new role, Heggemann doesn’t believe that he will shake things up.
