The Clopton Hawks knocked off two of their three opponents last week. One big victory came over a solid Wright City team, as the Hawks won 66-62.

ā€œI thought we grew a lot in this game; a tough environment, on the road, against a team who has been playing solid basketball as of late. The two things that made me proud as a coach was a second-half mental tenacity I had not seen yet this season and the point distribution with five players in double figures,ā€ said Clopton head coach Tony Francis.

Scorers were Shawn Yates (14), Dalton Strus (13), Maleek McPike (10), Zakk Elvins (10), and Kennon Watts (10).

The Hawks also beat Silex 55-49 as Yates had 17 points and Jared Hoehn scored 16 points.

On Feb. 6, the Hawks lost to a tough Warrenton squad, 68-51. Elvins had 14 points while both Strus and Hoehn had eight points.
