At the meeting on Monday, May 15, Mayor Marvin Brown discussed how he would like to implement his comprehensive plan for Louisiana for the city council committees.
“As we talk about the council’s interaction with the plan, everybody is absolutely encouraged to look at those goals and if you think they could be written better or differently I’m all ears,” Brown said.
“I want it to be a plan we all helped put together.”
Each council member will head one of the eight committees, some of which are new or expanded.
The Finance/Revenues/Budget Committee will be chaired by Kathy Smith; the Transportation/Infrastructure/Enterprise Committee will be chaired by Rodney Dolbeare; the Economic Development/Tourism Committee will be chaired by Bob Ringhausen; the Public Safety Committee will be chaired by Brice Chandler; the Parks/Recreation/Historic Preservation Committee will be chaired by Chuck Hoffman; the Housing/Civic and Community Institutions Committee will be chaired by Myles Neff, the Health/Senior Services and Disadvantaged Individuals Support Net Committee will be chaired by Nancy Evans and the Ordinance/Land Use/Administrative Policy Committee will be chaired by Tim Jackson.
