• Sunday, Oct. 15, Ashburn Fire Dept. Turkey Shoot at 12 p.m., 18 miles south of Hannibal on Hwy. 79 or 14 miles north of Louisiana on Hwy 79. Rain or Shine! Shells will be furnished for 4.10, 20, and 12 gauge. Prizes are ham, pork loin, turkey and bacon. Hope to see you and bring a friend! All proceeds will help the Fire Dept. purchase equipment.
Monday, Oct. 16, Pike-Linn Quilters meeting at 10 a.m., Mary Queen of Peace Church. Program will be Demo Flying Geese and Sew on Borders. Lunch will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend. Workers are needed for the Quilt Booth at the Appleshed.
Thursday, Oct. 19, the Democrats of Pike County will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Cozy C Campground. Members of the club will lead round table discussions on various topics. Also on the agenda will be updating by-laws and having a float in the Colorfest parade. Reservations can be made by calling 573-470-0325.
Troop 156 meets every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Scout House in Sunset Park. All boys ages 11 to 18 years are welcome to come and join.

The Hannibal Mark Twain Chapter of the Active and Retired Missouri State Employees (ARMSE) will meet on Friday, October 20, 2017 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Nutrition Center, 219 South Tenth Street in Hannibal. This month’s program will be a presentation on the Shrine Hospitals. All current and retired State employees are encouraged to attend. Reservations are not required.
