Friday, July 21, the Hannibal Mark Twain Chapter of the Active and Retired Missouri State Employees (ARMSE) will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Nutrition Center, 219 South Tenth Street in Hannibal. This month’s program will have Joe Smith and his granddaughter Cheyenne performing gospel music. All current and retired State employees are encouraged to attend. Reservations are not required. The Elks Lodge will be sponsoring a Car Seat check event on Saturday, July 22, from 9 a.m. – noon.
Car seat checks will be made by certified technicians with picnic style food available while supplies last.
Children in attendance will have an opportunity to receive a bike helmet.
The event will have no admission.

Sunday, July 23, Ashburn Fire Dept. Turkey Shoot at 12 p.m., 18 miles south of Hannibal on Hwy. 79 or 14 miles north of Louisiana on Hwy 79. Rain or Shine! Shells will be furnished for 4.10, 20, 16, and 12 gauge. Prizes are ham, pork loin, turkey and bacon. All proceeds will help the Fire Dept. purchase equipment.
Thursday, July 27, Board of Trustee’s of the Pike County Health Department Home Health and Hospice Agency will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room at 1 Healthcare Place, Bowling Green.
Troop 156 meets every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Scout House in Sunset Park. All boys ages 11 to 18 years are welcome to come and join.

Saturday, July 29, Lucky Bingo benefit for the Clarksville Community Chamber of Commerce at the American Leagon Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. for dinner by the Clarksville VFW. Bingo to begin at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, August 2, “Toy Stories II” at the Louisiana Area Historical Museum at 1:00 pm., co-sponsored with Friends of the Library. Bring your favorite old toys to show the group. We will find when it was made. Refreshments and Fun!
