Monday, May 29, Annual Memorial Day Service will be held at American Legion Post located at 420 Kelly Lane in Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. The services are open to anyone who would like to honor alive or deceased veterans. All veterans in attendance will be honored. Lunch will be served after the service until noon.

Thursday, June 1, Republicans of Pike County Annual Picnic (carry-in dinner) will be held at Sunset Park in Louisiana beginning at 6:30 p.m. Representative Craig Redmond will be attending.
Troop 156 meets every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Scout House in Sunset Park. All boys ages 11 to 18 years are welcome to come and join.

The great need for blood is ever growing especially in the summer months and particularly during and after natural disasters.
A Red Cross blood drive will be held at the local Elks Lodge on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 1-6 p.m.
Elmwood Presbyterian Women will co-sponsor the drive and will serve homemade vegetable soup, sandwiches, cookies and drinks to the donors.
All eligible donors are encouraged to participate.
