Monday, July 17, Pike Lin Quilters will meet at 10 a.m. at the Mary Queen of Peace Church in Clarksville. Program will be “English Paper Piecing”. Bring fabric and sewing kit. Hosted by Jackie, Carolyn and Sylvia. Bring lunch, refreshments will be served.
Tuesday, July 18, Applefest Committee will meet at 6 p.m. at Clarksville City Hall.
Wednesday, July 19, PCMH Board of Trustees will meet at noon in the 2nd floor conference room of the Pike County Memorial Hospital.
Thursday, July 20, Democrats of Pike County will meet at 6:30 at the Cozy C Campground meeting room. Melissa Kempke, County Clerk, will give a program on the new voter ID laws. Club members will be asked to sign up to work at the Democratic booth at the Pike County Fair. Union members will have petitions available at the Fair to sign for the pending Right to Work ballot initiative. Call 573-470-0325 for any questions.
Troop 156 meets every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Scout House in Sunset Park. All boys ages 11 to 18 years are welcome to come and join.

Friday, July 21, the Hannibal Mark Twain Chapter of the Active and Retired Missouri State Employees (ARMSE) will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Nutrition Center, 219 South Tenth Street in Hannibal. This month’s program will have Joe Smith and his granddaughter Cheyenne performing gospel music. All current and retired State employees are encouraged to attend. Reservations are not required. The Elks Lodge will be sponsoring a Car Seat check event on Saturday, July 22, from 9 a.m. – noon.
Car seat checks will be made by certified technicians with picnic style food available while supplies last.
Children in attendance will have an opportunity to receive a bike helmet.
The event will have no admission.
Saturday, July 22, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday, July 23, Ashburn Fire Dept. Turkey Shoot at 12 p.m., 18 miles south of Hannibal on Hwy. 79 or 14 miles north of Louisiana on Hwy 79. Rain or Shine! Shells will be furnished for 4.10, 20, 16, and 12 gauge. Prizes are ham, pork loin, turkey and bacon. All proceeds will help the Fire Dept. purchase equipment.
