Cole Reid brought home a first place win in the singles event at the 2018 Missouri USBC Youth Championship Tournament in Joplin. Reid’s total scores for the weekend landed him in seventh place overall in his division.
Reid, along with 11 other members of the Twin City Bowl Youth League, traveled to Joplin this May.
There were 698 bowlers in this year’s youth tournament with $11,380 given in scholarship monies.
In the fall, Reid will be a junior at Louisiana High School. This is his sixth year participating in the youth bowling program at Twin City Bowl.
Cole is the son of Kyle Reid of Louisiana and Tiffany Reid of Bowling Green.
This year the youth bowlers at Twin City Bowl have taken the opportunity to compete in several tournaments throughout the state.
They have participated in the Northeast MO Association Tournament which was held in Hannibal this year as well as the Pepsi Youth Tournament in Rolla.
To prepare the bowlers for the tournament action Twin City Bowl held two scratch tournaments as well as a Youth/Adult and Bring A Friend Tournament.
They also spent several months bowling on different oil patters to learn how to adjust their bowling to different lane conditions.
