The Clopton Hawks have been strong on the path in cross country over the last two meets with both teams finishing in the top three in both.
The Hawks defended their home grounds well with second place finishes from both the girls (62 points) and boys (69 points) teams at the Clopton Hamburger Meet meet on Monday, Oct. 9.
For the girls team, Caragan Lockard paced the team by medaling fifth with a time of 23:42 (personal record) and Tricia Luke also medaled in ninth place (24:31).
Megan Richards came in 26th place with a time of 27:08; Katelynn Hammett finished in 34th (28:50); Kari Leake placed 35th (28:51); Megan Harrelson placed 39th (29:19); Erica Mills placed 57th (33:56); Emma Carnahan placed 59th (34:30, personal record) and Ellie Beauchamp placed 60th (34:31, personal record).
For the boys team, Donovan Denslow medaled in third with a time of 18:25.
Landon Hall (14th place, 20:02) and Daniel Harvey (15th, 20:04) also medaled for the Hawks.
Jared Hoehn placed 33rd with a time of 22:00 and Parker Edmiston placed 42nd (23:01).
Clopton had two All-Conference runners at the EMO Conference Meet on Saturday, Oct. 14, in route to a second place finish by the boys team and a third place finish for the girls team.
Denslow medaled in second place with a time of 17:43, a personal record and good for a spot on First Team All-Conference.
Harvey placed 16th (20:05); Hall placed 21st (20:47); Hoehn placed 31st (22:38) and Edmiston placed 35th (23:28) for the Hawks.
Lockard set a personal record with a time of 23:24 and medaled in 11th place which was good for Second Team All-Conference honors.
Harrelson placed 24th (26:21, personal record); Richards placed 26th (27:04); Leake placed 32nd (27:57) and Mills placed 44th (30:47, personal record) for Clopton.
