Growing up Bobby Evans had a passion for music.
“The thing is, I always wanted to be a songwriter,” Evans said in a telephone interview with the Bowling Green Times on Sunday. “I like to write songs. I had no interest in being a singer or an artist. I just love the idea of having people singing along to the words that I wrote. I love the idea of hearing stories from people about how a song impacted them emotionally.”
Evans, who graduated from Clopton High School in 1999, is a finalist in the Country Music Television and Nashville Songwriters Association Contest. He is the son of Larry and Mary Evans, of rural Pike County.
The song that Evans co-wrote with St. Louis area-songwriters, Tyler Lewis and Joe Bizelli, is called a “The Next Generation.”
