The Alliance Art Gallery in Hannibal will feature the work of Cindy Dietrich Logan from March 23 through May 4.
Raised in Texas, Logan now resides in Louisiana and her work reflects the lush beauty of the Mississippi River basin. She works in a variety of mediums, including pastels, acrylics, and watercolors to capture the natural beauty of this area.
Logan received a B.A. in art, English and secondary education from William Woods College in Fulton and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Teaching from Webster University in St. Louis with a concentration in Visual Communication.
As an art teacher at Louisiana High School, Logan organized the National Honor Art Society and many of her students selected careers in art. She has since retired from teaching art in public schools and continues to create, showing her work regionally. She also teaches private art classes.
An opening reception will be held on April 12, from 5-8 p.m. This opening coincides with Second Saturday Gallery night, the monthly opportunity to meet the Featured Artists and the Member Artists of the Alliance Art Gallery. There will be food, fun, and a drawing for artwork at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
