The Knights of Columbus gave the Village of the Blue Rose a check for $716 last week from the group’s annual Tootsie Roll drive.     Trish Connelly, left, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Clarksville Community Chamber of Commerce. A plaque was presented to her by the Chamber’s President, Joanna Brock, right, and Mayor Jo Anne Smiley. Connelly is on the front lines of sandbagging crews and is Chairman of the City’s Parks and Recreation Committee who single-handedly plants grass, pulls weeds, plans landscapes, arranges for landscaping rocks among other things.  She is also

  • Buffalo Township United Fund reaches goal

    The same evening the winter temperatures rolled in last week, the Buffalo Township United Fund (United Fund) board received some heart-warming news from its treasurer.  She shared that the 2014 goal of $27,175 had been met. Thus the 12 non-profit agencies that made funding requests to the United Fund for 2014 last November will receive 100 percent of their requests.  As a matter of fact, checks totaling $27,175 were written
