Buffalo Township United Fund reaches goal

The same evening the winter temperatures rolled in last week, the Buffalo Township United Fund (United Fund) board received some heart-warming news from its treasurer.  She shared that the 2014 goal of $27,175 had been met. Thus the 12 non-profit agencies that made funding requests to the United Fund for 2014 last November will receive 100 percent of their requests.  As a matter of fact, checks totaling $27,175 were written

    By Holly Hill The LHS Interact Club held an induction ceremony in the high school cafeteria on Monday, Oct. 27. The Louisiana Chapter of Rotary International provided the ceremony, including a dinner cooked by Mr. Calvin Jesberg and Mrs. Marilyn Behlmann.   • Ecumenical women’s breakfast group to meet Nov. 10

    The Ecumenical Women’s breakfast group will meet on Monday, Nov. 10, at 8:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 121 South 8th Street in Louisiana.   • Interact gears up for philanthropy

The money raised will pay for two meals a day, a uniform for school and tuition for the student to attend classes.   • Rotary Donation

    Rotary donation The Louisiana Rotary Club submitted a successful grant application for matching funds through the District’s Designated Funds. Rotary District 6060’s Community Assistance Program provides an opportunity for Rotary Clubs to use Rotary Foundation District Designated Funds to undertake projects in local communities.   • Renner participates in service activities

    Shelby Renner, freshman nursing major of Louisiana,  was among the 550 Culver-Stockton students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members who spent Saturday, Aug. 23 volunteering for the sixth annual Extreme Dome Makeover, Culver-Stockton’s largest community service event. The volunteers spruced up 16 work sites in the town of Canton. Volunteers spent the day doing various activities like painting, landscaping and cleaning. Project sites included both public areas and private residences.
