    1. Turkey Shoot @ Ashburn Fire Station
      12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

      The Ashburn Rural Volunteer Fire Department will hold a turkey shoot on Sunday, Nov. 9 beginning at noon at the Ashburn Fire Station (take Highway 79, 18 miles south from Hannibal or 14 miles north from Louisiana, to Route TT; go one mile and the fire station is on the left).

      Ammunition furnished for each shoot 4-10, 20 and 12 gauge.

      Prizes: Ham, pork loin, turkey and bacon.

      Shoot at paper targets.

      Food and drinks will be available.

      All proceeds will go to the Ashburn Rural Volunteer Fire Department to help with operating expenses and to purchase new and up to date equipment.

      No alcohol allowed.

      Louisiana Area Historical Museum annual fall dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 13 at American Legion Post 370, 420 Kelly Lane, beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are available from Museum Board members or at the Louisiana Public Library.       The Hannibal Mark Twain Chapter of the Association of Retired Missouri State Employees (ARMSE) will meet Friday, Nov. 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Nutrition Center, 219 S. 10th St. in Hannibal.

      Program will be given by Rex Nelson who will give a presentation on raising exotic birds.
