Lil’ Sprouts Farm in Louisiana is offering city residents an alternative to burning leaves.
The farm is targeting leaves, grass clippings, and pumpkins for waste diversion.
Residents are asked to have their bags out early Friday, Oct. 25. The farm will be picking up throughout the weekend until Sunday, Oct. 27.
The second clean-up is scheduled for Friday Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 10, and residents can donate their pumpkins for those days.
The farm prefers large paper yard bags because they’re compostable, or cardboard boxes.
As the farm acquires additional equipment it will offer bigger yard waste items for collection in the future.
