The Clarksville Garden Club is having its annual family picnic at noon at the home of Maisie and Harlow Keeser. Club members are to bring a vegetable or dessert. Saturday, Sept. 28:
The Bethel AME Churches in Louisiana and Paynesville will hold a bake sale starting at 10 a.m. until ?? in the Bowling Green County Market parking lot. They will be selling homemade cakes, pie, cookies, etc.

Thursday, Oct. 3:
The Louisiana Pee-Wee Cheerleaders are hosting a fund-raiser on the first Thursday of every month from 4-8 p.m. at Pizza Hut. The group will receive 20 percent of all sales from customers who fill out a form at the register.
Republicans of Pike County will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church in Louisiana. The meeting will begin with a carry-in supper followed by a business meeting. Anyone interested in the conservative point of view is welcome to attend our meeting.
Saturday Oct. 5:
The Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition will hold their annual banquet at Clopton High School. A meal will be served of fried chicken, pork loin, baked potato, green beans, corn, salad, dessert and drinks. There will be a Fashion Show with Marsha Mayfield as narrator and entertainment by the Weston Family of Fulton. Attendance Prizes will also be given. Saturday, Oct. 5:
The American Legion Hall will have a trivia night to benefit the Clarksville visitors center on Hwy. 79 in Clarksville. Doors open at 6 p.m., play runs from 6:30 to 10 p.m.. $20 per person, eight per table. Beer and soda is provided. Bring your favorite appetizers, grab some friends, come have some fun. The Greenwood Cemetery will have a fall breakfast on Saturday, Oct.5 from 7 until 10 a.m. at the American Legion building in Clarksville. They will have pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. The cost is $8. Proceeds will go to the Greenwood Stone repair Project.
Tuesday, Oct. 8:
Tours of the old Bowling Green jail and the new Pike County Genealogical Society’s home at 5 East Church St. are planned for the October meeting of Pike County Historical Society. The tours will be begin at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be served by the women of Good Shepherd Luther Church at 1806 West Main St. at 6:30 pm. The program for the evening is on the history of the old jail and the history of the Genealogical Society and it’s founders. Everyone is welcome to join in the tour and attend the meeting. Reservations must be made by Tuesday, Oct. 1. Call the following members to make reservations.
