The Twin Pike Family YMCA 21st CCLC before- and after-school program at Louisiana is off to a wonderful start for the 2013 – 2014 school year.
We have 61 students who have enrolled in the program for the many fun and exciting activities prepared by our teachers and staff.
The students are provided with a healthy snack and homework help. Students participate in mini-reading courses, learn iPad technology, art, computers, physical activity and interact with the other students.
This years before- and after-school program staff include Heather Barber, Jeremy Booth, Noveta Shepherd, Loretta Woodward, Debbie Triplett, Rachel Campbell, Stephanie Grimes, Benita Asquith and Melinda Brooks.
In addition to the many above activities we’ll be offering several enrichment activities provided for through the Henry Lay Foundation. These enrichment activities provide students with many opportunities to learn from members of the community that have many talents to share with our young students.
Finally, we are preparing for the annual “Lights On” after-school event to be held Thursday, Oct. 17. During this time students, parents and guardians are encouraged to attend and participate in a variety of activities to raise awareness of the importance of after-school programs in keeping kids’ safe, helping working families, and inspiring learning. A letter will be sent home with information on this spectacular event.
If you are interested in enrolling your children, or have questions, please contact Melinda Brooks, site coordinator at, 573-754-0270 or Kay Miller at 573-754-4999.
