An Elsberry man was seriously injured when his truck was struck by a train at 5:37 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept 18 in Winfield, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred on East Main Street at the railroad crossing.
Gary Nelsen, 30, of Elsberry, was westbound on East Main in a 1994 Dodge Ram while the train driven by Robert Skien, 32, of Carthage, Ill., was southbound on the tracks.
