A record crowd attended the fourth annual United Fund of Calumet Ice Cream Social, announced treasurer Ramsey Dickerman.
Special treats and local talent drew people from around Pike County and beyond.
New to the line-up were dancers Chris and Shelley Fitchett, who complemented this year’s vocal talent, Debbie Ingram, Jennifer Eisenhower, Christian Lewis, and Joe Allwood and sons.
Debbie Peppers Emcee charmed the crowd and kept them entertained. She read the poem, an “Owed”, that she wrote after learning that the event needed more than 35 volunteers behind the scenes plus the performers.
Jerry Epperson, dee jay, kept music and entertainment flowing while playing selections from Cornet Chop Suey between performances.
Other additions to the program this year were, the auction of a beautiful cake donated by Trish Connelly and made by Master Pastry Chef Linda Gumprecht and trivia questions answered by the crowd. Did you know that the first pitcher at Cooper Field was Larry Beauchamp?
This was a great time for the community to come together for a good cause.
