The Town of Paynesville will hold clean up weekend. A Large Dumpster will be placed at the North end of town next to Ricky Gardner property. No shingles, paint cans, old tires, tree trimmings, ect. Any old appliances may be placed beside the dumpster, such as stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers or refrigerators. Ricky will take care of them. For persons living in City Limits only.
Clarksville Memorial VFW Post 4610 barbacue at Bowling Green County Market parking lot. Pork Steak Plates and sandwiches, hamburger or pork burger plates and sandwiches, or large hot dog plates and sandwiches- plates will consist of cole slaw and baked beans , will also have bottle water.
Serving time 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition meeting at Second Christian Church New London at 6 p.m. light meal served before meeting. Plans for upcoming banquet to be held in October will be discussed along with other important items.
Monday, Sept. 3:
The Clarksville Memorial VFW Post 4610 would like to welcome everyone to join them at 6 p.m. for a “Cancer Prevention Event”, presented by “Dr. Todd A. Miller,” M.D., board certified Family Practice Physician, from the Eastern Missouri Health Services. Refreshments will be served following the event, everyone is welcome to learn more about Cancer.
Thursday, Sept. 5:
Republicans of Pike County club will meet at the Faith Baptist Church in Louisana. The meeting will begin with a carry-in supper at 6:30 p.m. followed by a business meeting at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 7:
The family and friends of Jim Cole are requesting the honor of your presence at the Jennings Frankford Opera House on Saturday at 4 p.m. There will be food, live and silent auctions, live music (country and bluegrass) local talent.
Greenwood Cemetery Board will have a clean-up day at 9 a.m. if you wish to keep flowers that are around stones, they will need to be removed before that date. Rain date will be Sat. Sept. 14.
Monday, Sept. 9:
The Ecumenical Women’s Breakfast group will meet at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Clarksville at 8:30 a.m. with the ladies of St. Joseph Catholic Church as co-hostesses. Well known musician Jerry Epperson will provide the program. All women of faith are invited to attend. A five dollar donation for the breakfast is shared with local missions of the group.
Monday, Sept. 9:
Ecumenical Women’s Breakfast at Clarksville’s Mary Queen of Peace church at 8 a.m.
Clarksville Planning and Zoning Committee meets at City Hall at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 15:
The Annual Country Picnic at the Village of the Blue Rose from 12-5PM. Silent Auction starts at noon along with the Country Store Booth, Pick Four Booth, Christmas Booth and a Children ‘s area. Enjoy Horse & Pony rides, check out the furniture sale and browse our great collections of books. Our chef is smoking a whole hog, and will have chicken dinners, and lots of delicious food.
