Pike County students win chili fest art awards
There were eight winners of the Chili Art Show held during the recent Missouri State Chili Cookoff in Clarksville.
In addition, some entrants sold their works and donated the proceeds to the Raintree Arts Council. The proceeds raised $100 for the council’s Jamie McIlroy Memorial Scholarships.
Here are the winners in their grade levels:
First place, Raegan Bowser, of Louisiana, the daughter of Jim and Tammi Bowser.
Second place, Kaci Riddle, of Pleasant Hill, Ill., the daughter of Christy and Rodney Riddle.
Third place, Madeline Norton, of Bowling Green, the daughter of Phil and Candace Norton.
Honorable mention, Ti Niedner, of Louisiana, the daughter of Bart and Michelle Niedner.
First place, Braxton Wallace, of Louisiana, the daughter of Daryle and Cara Wallace, of Louisiana, and Hattie and Mike Kinkade, of Louisiana.
Second place, Ryan Cashman, of Louisiana, the son of Jeff Cashman and Heather Leverenz.
Third place, Jeff Love, of Louisiana, the son of Jeff and Jeri Love.
Honorable mention, Greg Pitzer, of Louisiana, the son of Clint and Lisa Pitzer.
Those who had work sell and made donations toward the scholarship were:
•Savannah Boehlein, of Louisiana, daughter of Janet Davis, of Louisiana, and David Boehlein, of Clarksville.
• Chey Powers, of Louisiana, the son of Tivis Powers and Kimberly Cantrell.
• Joyce Ostrander, of Louisiana, the daughter of Erica Campbell and Jerry Ostrander.
• Nathan Perkins, the son of Brad Perkins, of Louisiana, and Shannon McGeorge, of St. Charles.
• Caitlyn Mabry, of Farmington, the daughter of Bart and Michelle Mabry and the granddaughter of Joe and Holly Mabry, of Clarksville.
Wallace, Love, Cashman, and Bowser also donated their works.
