Plans underway for Plein Air event
visual artists from all over the region participated in last year’s event.
The second annual Golden Hills of Louisiana Plein Air Painting event will be held in Louisiana on Sept. 21.
After a fantastic first event of unparalleled success last year, this year promises to be even better. Visual artists from all over the region participated in last year’s event to paint “en plein air” the hills, valleys, buildings and people in and around Louisiana.
The day-long event will be topped off with an exhibition and sale of the artists’ paintings and other art work completed previously to be held at the Masonic Temple on Georgia and 7th Street from 6 to 8 p.m.
Residents from all around Pike County are encouraged to attend this event, watch the artists in action painting around the town, view and purchase their work that evening.
The viewing public will also have a chance to vote on the People’s Choice awards at the evening reception and show.
Artists’ works will be judged for cash prizes for first, second and third place as well as having the opportunity to sell their work.
This show is unique with “purchase patrons” having made pledges of funding to purchase works by the artists.
The process allows the “purchase patrons” first choice in buying the artwork guaranteeing them the most desirable works. Last year’s Golden Hills of Louisiana event had guaranteed “purchase patrons” in the amount of $2,200.
Please contact Martha Weston at firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain more information and get on the “purchase patron” list.
