Two recent Louisiana High School graduates played Saturday, July 13 in the inaugural Missouri vs. Illinois High School Baseball All Star game.
Pitcher-outfielder Dylan Smith and catcher Brendan Ross both saw significant playing time in the game, which Illinois won, 9-3, at Clemens Field in Hannibal.
Both players had multi-sport careers at Louisiana High as starters in baseball, basketball, football and on the school’s golf team. They were named to several all-conference and all-district squads.
Ross also earned an honorable mention on the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 2 All State team. He will attend Central Methodist University in the fall on a golf scholarship.
Smith is planning to attend Moberly Area Community College.
