Bank of Louisiana selects winner of food drive contest
Bank of Louisiana President Amber Shafer presents Pat Radford with the Cardinals tickets.
The winner of the Bank of Louisiana Cans for Fans Food Drive Contest has been selected.
Pat Radford was randomly selected from the entries of the participating food donors. Radford was given four tickets, a parking pass and a $25 VISA gift card to the July 10 St. Louis Cardinals game against the Houston Astros.
The summer months are often the hardest times for local food banks because community donations decrease. In attempt to raise awareness and increase donations, Bank of Louisiana created Cans for Fans. For every five food items donated, participants were able to enter the drawing for the Cardinal baseball game prize. In addition, BOLA staff donated items in exchange for weekly dress down days since they were not eligible to receive the Cardinals tickets prize.
The Kids in Motion participants picked up the cans at West Bank branch and delivered them to Heart to Heart Community Outreach. The main bank donations were taken to the First Baptist Church for the Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry.
