Frankford teen killed in tractor accident
One Pike County resident was killed and another injured in separate accidents on Monday, July 1, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Michael A. Steele, 15, of Frankford, was killed at 4:24 p.m. in Ralls County just west of the town of Center on Salem Road.
Steele was southbound on a 1954 International farm tractor hauling a trailer about one mile north of Mark Twain Road when he fell off and was run over by the trailer. Ralls County Coroner Denise Goodwin pronounced him dead at the scene.
In the other accident, Raymond J. Clark, 36, of Bowling Green, was northbound on Hwy. 61 at 3:25 a.m. in a 2012 Hino truck. The vehicle went off the left side of the road and overturned just south of Hwy. F.
Clark was taken by ambulance to Pike County Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, the patrol said.
