Ecumenical Women’s Breakfast group holds meeting
The Ecumenical Women’s Breakfast group met on Monday, June 10 at the First Christian Church in Louisiana with the ladies of Bethel A.M.E. Church serving as co-hostesses. There were 41 in attendance from 10 area churches.
Following breakfast in the fellowship hall, President Judy Allely conducted a brief business meeting. Linda Shade talked about the upcoming Vacation Bible School fundraiser that will be held on June 22 at the Christian Church and also the need for volunteers for the ecumenical VBS to be held July 15-19.
The group adjourned to the sanctuary for the World Day of Prayer program that had been postponed this winter due to a snowstorm.
The program was written by women in France and was made up of scripture, prayer, music, and a short play that involved several volunteers. Jean Eastman and Julie Stephens were in charge of the program, with Father Lou Dorn serving as the song leader and Marilyn Johnson the pianist.
The next meeting of the group will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the ladies of St. Joseph Catholic Church as co-hostesses.
