State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, wants to remind everyone about his upcoming “Northeast Missouri Local Government Day,” scheduled for June 25 at the Capitol. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in House Hearing Rooms 2 and 3, located in the basement of the Capitol.
“My first priority as a state senator is to serve the people of my district to the best of my ability and make sure their needs are met,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “County and municipal officials should feel comfortable and confident interacting with statewide offices and departments. I sponsor this event every year in order to better facilitate an open and accessible communication system between statewide departments and the local officials of my district.”
Subjects to be discussed include the state budget, safety, economic development, emergency management, the State Tax Commission and the Missouri Department of Transportation. Any mayor, city council member, city manager, or city/county clerk within the 18th Senatorial District, is invited to attend the event.
