Clarksville woman installed as Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri president
Joyce Lewis, a member of the Clarksville Garden Club was recently installed as the president of the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri at the annual convention held in St. Joseph.
Lewis will serve for the 2013-2015 term.
The Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri (FGCM) with approximately 2,500 members is affiliated with the National Garden Clubs, Inc. and the Central Region.
Lewis has served her local club and the Northeast District in many ways. She served as assistant director and director of the district and has been on the executive board of FGCM for over six years.
Married to Paul Lewis, they reside on a farm southwest of Clarksville. They had two sons and a daughter, one of the sons is deceased. They delight in visiting the children and grandchildren who are scattered around the country.
Loving to garden is what drew Lewis into joining the local club. Lewis’ theme as president is “Flowers and Friends Forever.” She encourages all to take every advantage to learn, care and share. Her goal is to help make the state of Missouri and our country a better place.
