Volunteers are needed to make the 2013 Louisiana Country Colorfest a smooth reality and to make sure the town’s largest fesitval continues in 2014 and beyond.
A meeting for new Colorfest volunteers will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 at the Louisiana Library.
Robert and Mona Brown have been running Colorfest for the past few years but would like to take a less active role in the future.
“We’re willing to help but it gets to a point where that is the only thing you can do in the community and we want to do other things as well,” Mona Brown said Tuesday, June 4.
“It makes it a lot easier for everybody when there’s a lot of volunteers.”
This year’s Colorfest is scheducled for Oct. 19-20 will be the 29th annual event.
If volunteers don’t step up “I’m worried about No. 30,” Brown said.
She said there is “a definite possibility” that the festival will not continue in 2014 if more volunteers don’t come forth.
