The Hannibal Arts Council joins up with Best of Missouri Hands, a statewide artists and artisans association, to host a group exhibit featuring general and juried members of BOMH who live in Northeast Missouri.
Louisiana artist John Stoeckley will have a coinciding exhibit featuring his original pen, ink and watercolors inspired by Provence, France. The exhibits will be on display at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S Main St., from May 25 through July 6.
The exhibits are being sponsored by Hannibal Regional Medical Group and Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
Best of Missouri Hands members participating in the group exhibit include artists Martha Mudd Adrian, Brenda Beck Fisher, Pat Kerns and Kimberly Shinn, of Hannibal; Jeannie Scott/Eric Zumwalt and Joyce Ayers, of Green Castle; Dave Carter, Charles Pritchard and Ann Salviazul, of Kirksville; Theresa Allen Hamlin, of Edina; Cindy Logan, of Louisiana; and Mary Beth St. Clair, of Wyaconda.
“Both exhibits provide an opportunity for local residents and artists to become more familiar with Best of Missouri Hands and its members who live in the Northeast Missouri region. The 13 participating artists represent a wide range of mediums. We are proud to be able to exhibit the artists from our own backyard,” said Brenda Beck Fisher, HAC program coordinator.
“HAC is also honoured to have the opportunity to exhibit John Stoeckley’s Provence Collection at the same time. The timing of his exhibit just seemed a good fit, considering the regional focus of the BOMH exhibit, our region’s familiarity with his work and his long time involvement in the Folklife Festival.”
Hannibal Arts Council hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The Hannibal Arts Council is closed Tuesdays and Sundays.
Evening viewing hours will be offered 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 8 during Second Saturday Gallery Night.
