Eujetta Cornelia Calanthia Elbert, age 95, of Hannibal, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Willow Care Center in Hannibal. Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the White Rose Baptist Church in Bowling Green with Rev. Marvin Davis officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation was held on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
She was born Aug. 12, 1917 in Bowling Green, the daughter of George and Mayme Burks Frazier. She married Eugene Elbert in Bowling Green in 1934. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include son George Shelby Elbert of St. Louis; daughters M. Faye Vaughn of Frankford, Mary Lucy Murphy of New London, Ella L. Ford of Vandalia and Verna Jean Ford and husband Donald of New London; 18 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 35 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Chester Eugene Elbert and 11 brothers and sisters.
Cornelia was born and raised in Bowling Green and went to Bowling Green schools. She was a member of White Rose Baptist Church where was became a member at a very early age and was very active in the church until she became ill and unable to attend. She enjoyed embroidery work, canning and taking care of her home and her family. She especially enjoyed family gatherings when her brothers and sisters would come. She was the last of 12 brothers and sisters.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert Vaughn Jr, George Vaughn, J. Curtis Vaughn, Jamarr Vaughn, Neil Vaughn and George Shelby Elbert, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Clark, Donald Ford, Robert Bell, DeVaughn Hawkins, Jairus Bell, Matthew Hawkins, Darryl Murphy, Michael Ford, Jeffrey Elbert and J. Curtis Vaughn II.

Funeral services for Mrs. Irma Lee Harrison, 55, of Louisiana, were held on Friday, May 17 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Mark Shepherd officiated.
Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana. Mrs. Harrison passed away on May 14, 2013 at the St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1957 in Louisiana to James Ellis “Pete” Shade and Ruth Sevier. She married Lewis Edgar Harrison Sr. on May 3, 1986 in Louisiana and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1992.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Ruffin, of Louisiana; her children, Kyle Miller, of the home, Tiffany Silva, of Louisiana, Amber Garza and husband Jesus, of Louisiana, Lewis Harrison Jr., of East Prairie, Missouri; her grandchildren, Zachary Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Jesus Garza, Bryan Garza, Rigoberta Silva, Abigail Harrison, Lewis Harrison III, and soon-to-be-born Anabela Irma Benita Silva; her sisters, Joyce Ferree, of Colorado, Rhonda Niffen, of Dallas, Texas, and Joyce Shade, of Louisiana; her brothers, David Shade and Terry Shade, both of Louisiana; a step-sister, Charlotte Ruffin, of Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Shade and her step-father, James Ruffin.
Mrs. Harrison had worked at Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, for a number of years. She later worked for cab companies in Louisiana for several years. She enjoyed playing Bingo and enjoying most of all was spending time with her grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Zachary Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Jesus Garza, Bryan Garza, and Rigoberta Silva. Active Pallbearers were Jesus G. Garza, Lonnie Gollaher, Robert Bliss, Edgar Bliss, Terry Harrison, Joseph Harrison, and Wiley Harrison.

Darren Keith McGuire, 41, of Clarksville died suddenly at his home where he lived with his mother in Clarksville on May 16, 2013.
His desire was to be cremated and services will be held at a later date.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1971 in St. Louis, the son of Patrick D. McGuire Sr. and Elizabeth Pendley McGuire.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth (Libby) McGuire, of Clarksville; one brother, Kennet L. McGuire Sr., of Clarksville; one sister, Patricia A. Moore, of Springfield; nieces, Kristal McGuire, KayLea McGuire, Katie McGuire and several others; nephews, Kennet L. McGuire Jr., Kristopher McGuire, Kevin McGuire and several others; one great niece, BreAnne Weldon, of Chesterfield; and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick D. McGuire Sr.; paternal grandparents, William and Reathel McGuire; maternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Lois Pendley; and several uncles.
He had lived in Clarksville for over 20 years. He was a hard worker of many trades.

Gilbert Joe Vodohosky, age 86, of Bowling Green, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital. Burial was held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Bowling Green.
He was born Nov. 25, 1926 in Iowa, the son of Joseph and Lucille Vodohosky. He married Hiawatha Griffith on Jan. 7, 1945. She preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2005. Survivors include son Michael Vodohosky of Bowling Green; grandson Steven Vodohosky of Bowling Green; great grandson Cameron Vodohosky; sister Darlene Shadle of Camanche, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter Lynn Renea Vodohosky.
Gilbert grew up in the Winterset and Newton, Iowa area. He later moved to Bowling Green after working on a road construction job in Bowling Green and met his love, Hiawatha. He served his country during WWII in the United States Navy where he spent most of his time in the Philippines. He worked for Philip Schaper Chevrolet before starting his own business, Gilbert’s Garage, which has been in business for 60 years. He was a member of the Bowling Green VFW Post #5553. Gilbert enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing, and was an avid reader of westerns and enjoyed taking family vacations out west to the towns he would read about.
