The Louisiana Bulldogs golf team had a great tournament capturing the district title Monday, April 29 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.
The Bulldogs had the top four individual finishers and grabbed their third district team title in four years.
Louisiana took 333 strokes for the title, with Fayette coming in a distant second at 394 in a 10-team field.
Seniors Dylan Smith and Brendan Ross paced the Bulldogs by both shooting 82 on the par 72 course.
Senior Greg Pitzer shot an 83, while sophomore Dallas Castagna shot an 86. Sophomore Justin Lenz had a 99.
“We have to keep playing well going into sectionals next Monday,” May 6, said Bulldogs Head Coach Derrick Branstetter.
The sectional tournament will be played at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly, starting at 9 a.m.
The top two teams and the top 12 individual finishers at that tournament will qualify for the state tournament to be held at the Silo Ridge Golf Club in Bolivar on Monday and Tuesday, May 13-14.
