A veteran coach with 35 years of high school and college experience has been hired to take over the Louisiana High School football program.
Greg Purdum, of Troy, will take over from Steve Gschwender, who was the Bulldogs’ head coach the past four seasons.
The announcement was made Monday, April 15 by high school Athletic Director Curtis Hendrickson. Purdum will meet with Hendrickson on Friday, April 19 to get acclimated to the school.
Hendrickson said he could not discuss why Gschwender was not retained, but R-II Superintendent Dr. Richard Basden offered an explanation.
