A Louisiana-area woman will be arraigned in Pike County associate circuit court on Wednesday, April 10 for allegedly punching a Pike County sheriff’s officer.
Jo Ann Turner, 49, faces a felony charge of assaulting a peace officer before Judge David Ash.
County court records show Sgt. Michael Starman was called to a residence on Pike 136 on Thursday, March 28 on a different matter.
Turner allegedly spit in Starman’s face and punched him there as well during an altercation. Turner also allegedly broke a holding cell window in the jail with her foot, according to a probable cause statement.
The accused also allegedly threatened the officer’s family and told him she would “put a bullet in my head,” Starman said in the statement.
Turner is in jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond. Public defender Lisa Morrow will try to reduce that bond amount in Wednesday’s hearing.
Probation given in sex case
A Louisiana man was given five years probation by Judge Ash after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct with a child under 15 on March 20.
Jesse Alan DeCamp, 25, will also serve 20 days of shock incarceration at the county jail and complete 80 hours of community service, according to court records.
DeCamp exposed himself to two underage girls at a Frankford Road residence on Feb. 1.
Eolia assault case to trial
Two Eolia residents will face a trial for two counts of assault a piece on Thursday, Oct. 17 in Pike County Circuit Court before Judge James D. Beck.
Timothy A. Kimmel, 35, and Amie Kimmel, 33, allegedly got into an altercation with another man in an Eolia parking lot on March 11, 2012.
Mr. Kimmel allegedly struck the man repeatedly with his fists and then with a metal fence post during the fight, according to court records.
Mrs. Kimmel allegedly stabbed the victim twice in the left side with a folding knife. She said she pushed the victim and didn’t realize the knife was in her hand, according to a probably cause statement.
