Clopton is home to two of the top 3-point shooters in the Eastern Missouri Conference.
During Friday night’s EMO Senior Showcase, Amanda Klopcic and Hank Owens each won top honors during the boys and girls 3-point contests.
Klopcic garnered seven points in the girls shootout and edged Silex’s Natalie Fleming, Bowling Green’s Kelsey Scherder and Courtney Kadlac, who each had six points. Others participating included Bowling Green’s Caitlyn McClain (two points) and Silex’s Kimmy Duggan (one point).
In the boys contest, an overtime session was needed for Owens to be crowned the winner. He buried two 3-pointers out of three attempts, while North Callaway’s Justin Murphy made one.
Both players had tied with five points in the finals and six points in the first round.
Other boys participating in the shootout were Community R-VI’s Sean Wilson (five points), North Callaway’s Zach Eads (five points), Van-Far’s Brian Kurz (four points) and Wellsville’s Bryn Trent (four points).
Klopcic can also now brag at being the top 3-point shooter at Clopton. During the Battle of the Sexes, which pitted Klopcic against Owens, she made five treys to his four.
