The Louisiana Press-Journal will hold its edition and release it on Wednesday, April 3 for full election results. Unofficial election results will be available election night at the paper’s Facebook page and website of www.louisianapressjournal.com.
Municipal and district elections typically bring out less than 20 percent of the voters but county issues and board races could increase that number a bit on Tuesday, April 2, according to Pike County Clerk Melissa Kempke.
The use tax proposal to collect a fee only on purchases made out-of-state will be voted on countywide. It needs a simple majority to pass.
Voters in 14 precincts and absentees across the county will also vote to elect a board member for Pike County Memorial Hospital.
“Be informed of the issues,” Kempke said. “Sample ballots are available at my office and are published in the Bowling Green Times and The Louisiana Press Journal.
