Several area Easter services planned

An Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 31 in the gazebo area of the Louisiana riverfront.
This will be a change from the service traditionally held at Henderson Park. It is hoped that the parking will be more convenient for those in attendance.
This service is open to everyone in the community. There is a limited amount of seating available, so attendees might want to bring charis.
The Louisiana Ministerial Alliance is making preparation for the service, which promises to be inspirational and unique. Becki Kelley, wife of The Rev. Don Kelley who is currently serving as the Transitional Pastor at First Baptist Church, will lead the singing.
The message will be brought by Rev. Kelley. Also participating in the service will be the Rev. Pat Glenn, the Rev. John Lersch, the Rev. Terry Cook, and the Rev. Jeanne Webdell.
The Louisiana Ministerial Alliance is a coalition of churches and it provides an opportunity for ministers and churches to work together for such special events as the sunrise service.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Louisiana, located at 608 South Carolina Street.

Easter morning services
A special Easter morning service will be held at Centenary United  Methodist Church in Louisiana.  Refreshments will be served before church.
The worship service begins at 11 a.m. and will include beautiful music from the chancel choir, the youth handbell choir and the adult handbell choir.
Easter at Centenary is also celebrated by the preparation of a fresh flower cross, which symbolizes new life. Everyone is invited to bring flowers from their yard to add to the cross. At the conclusion of the service the flower cross is placed outside the church for the entire community to see.
